James Kimble Vardaman, Jr. (1894-1972) was an American lawyer. He served as a Governor of the Federal Reserve System from 1946 to 1958. ==Early life== James Kimble Vardaman, Jr. was born in 1894 in Greenwood, Mississippi.〔(James K. Vardaman, Jr.: Governor (Board of Governors): 1946 - 1958 )〕 His father, James K. Vardaman, served as the Governor of Mississippi from 1904 to 1908 and as a United States Senator from 1913 to 1919.〔 He attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi.〔 He earned a Law degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi in 1914.〔 He served in the United States Army from 1917 to 1919 during World War I, retiring as a Captain.〔
